How ink manufacturers use ethanol
In solvent-based inks, ethanol helps dissolve resins, controls viscosity and sets drying speed on press. Too much water slows drying and can cause blocking; inconsistent material forces press operators to keep re-adjusting.
Ink makers also use ethanol for press-side dilution and equipment cleaning, which makes predictable monthly volume more important than a single low price.
